    Mayvin® is currently seeking experienced applicants for a Contract Specialist position that will provide successful acquisition support, market research, acquisition planning, pricing, contract performance management and contract administration to establish and meet goals and objectives for Naval Special Warfare Command (NSWC) in Coronado, CA

    Secret clearance required.

    You must be a U.S. citizen to be considered.


    • Evaluates or monitors contract performance to determine necessity for amendments or extensions of contracts, and compliance to contractual obligations.
    • Evaluates requests for deviations from contract specifications and delivery schedules.
    • Assists in arbitration of claims or complaints occurring in performance of contracts.
    • Responsible for performing cost and price analysis.

    • Preparation of contract files and electronic documents.

    • Thorough research, analysis and reviews of all applicable policies, guidance and regulations to support Government Contracting Officer decision-making.

    • Provide support to management, senior and junior level contracting and procurement personnel and customers.

    • Provide procurement assistance, advice and guidance to junior specialists.

    • Evaluates requests for deviations from contract specifications and delivery schedules.Solicit, evaluate, negotiate, analyze, provide advice, close out, and assist with awards and terminations on contracts for the procurement of supplies and services, including complex contracts and high dollar acquisitions.



    • A Bachelor's degree in a related discipline: accounting, business finance, law contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, organization, and management is preferred buy not required
    • Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Level II certification in Contracting, FAC-C II certification or industry equivalent required


    • Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Active Secret clearance required


    • 5 Years of DoD contracting experience desired
    • Requires a knowledge of pre-award and post-award procedures to plan and conduct the contracting process from the description of the requirements through contract delivery.
    • Experience with Navy contracting/acquisition desired but not required. 
    • Possess  knowledge of contracting procedures, operations, and regulations (i.e. FAR, DFARS).
    • Proficient in the use and application of the primary contract- writing tool for DoD known as the Standard Procurement System (SPS), which is also known by its application name Procurement Desktop 2 (PD2).
    • Experience with CORT and CPARS
    • Strong communication, organizational, creative, analytical and problem solving skills.
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and switch between tasks quickly.
    • Ability to work in a team environment.
    • Ability to create and maintain formal and informal networks.
