    Mayvin® is currently seeking experienced applicants for an IT/Staff Support position that would like to learn about small business management, specifically from an IT perspective.  This person would possess a dedication to detail and efficiency. Position is located in our Annandale, VA corporate office.

     This is an important IT/data entry role within the company with high visibility across the Executive team and the firm as a whole.  The individual selected must be self-directed, results-oriented, and a customer-focused who displays ethics, integrity, and leadership qualities.  Through exposure to leadership, project management and business planning activities, the intern will develop a foundation for basic requirements necessary to be successful in a small business environment.  Must be a U.S. citizen.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide IT support to office operations, including some or all of the following tasks:
      • IT troubleshooting and answering IT questions;
      • Uploading documentation to server based and web platforms;
      • Back-end web support.
    • Writing IT policy, documenting IT procedures, and creating sustainable IT infrastructure of a small business.
    • Prepare and enter source data by compiling and sorting information; establishing entry priorities.
    • Maintain data entry requirements by following data program techniques and procedures.
    • Verify employee accounts data by reviewing, correcting, deleting, or reentering data; combining data when account information is incomplete; purging files to eliminate duplication of data.
    • Maintain operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
    • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
    • Assist with other duties as assigned, including administrative functions.

    Qualifications

     Education:

    • Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.  Work experience will also be considered.
    • Minimum of 2 years work experience.

     

    Experience:

    • Have sufficient typing and data entry skills.
    • Must be attentive to detail, confidentiality, and thoroughness. 
    • Self-motivation and ability to work independently; interest in learning how small business contracting operates.
    • Possess an interest in overall business operations, business administration, government contracting, and finance.
    • Strong interpersonal skills (communication abilities – written and verbal).
    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
    • Ability to stay organized and meet deadlines.
    • Willingness to work as a team member.
    • Ability to be flexible, work independently, and be self-motivated.
    • Achievement-oriented (commitment, sense of urgency, initiative).
    • Expert level user with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    • Working knowledge of SharePoint.
