    Mayvin® is currently seeking experienced applicants for an Accounting Support Specialist II position. This position will be located in Washington D.C. This position’s primary function is to serve as an accounting subject matter expert for a U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) client. This position is contingent upon contract award.


    You must be a U.S. citizen to be considered. Secret clearance and/or DHS Suitability is required.


    • Skilled in applying, the concepts, principles, practices, laws, and regulations of budgeting and financing.
    • High degree of skill in analyzing and comparing budgets and programs actions to recommend the best use of funds.
    • Comprehensive and detailed knowledge and understanding of governing budgetary policies, financial processes, budget forecasts, estimates, and submissions conform to requirements, guidelines, and financial objectives.
    • Knowledge of analytical processes that is appropriate for conducting cost-benefit analysis, depreciation, pro-ration of revenues and costs, and identification of trends in the use of funds.


    Education and Experience Requirements:
    • Bachelor’s degree, Masters’ preferred, in Accounting or related field.
    • At least fifteen (15) years of direct experience in federal government and/or military accounting in lieu of a degree is acceptable.


    • Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance and/or DHS Suitability is required.


    • Minimum of 15 years of experience in Accounting.
    • Department of Homeland Security background preferred but not required.
    • Demonstrate ability to manage multiple projects on tight deadlines and to prioritize appropriately.
    • Strong analytical and policy analysis background.
    • Excellent communication, written, and organizational skills.
    • Ability to multi-task and respond to quick turn-around requests.
    • Superior skills with Microsoft Office programs (Access, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
