Overview

Mayvin® is currently seeking qualified applicants to serve as a SOF Procurement Specialist that will provide acquisition and procurement support to a Department of Defense customer. This position will be located at Ft. Belvoir, VA. The candidate will be a part of a team that is charged with quickly providing SOF units deployed globally with innovative government and commercial off-the-shelf solutions that address urgent requirements. 

This position requires U.S. citizenship. Top Secret clearance is required.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for handling incoming and outgoing message traffic; assigning responsibility for message traffic to appropriate commodity areas, and maintain accountability for messages; and de-conflict irregularities in message traffic with the sender in order to ensure accuracy.
  • Provide technical and administrative support for contract planning and administration tasks including the review of invoices, monitoring contracts compliance for quality and timeliness of deliverables, and develops solution and provides recommendations to Assistant Program Mangers for problem resolution.
  • Develop procurement documents (e.g. statements of work, performance work statements, quality assurance plans, cost estimates, IUID plans, etc.) in accordance with Department of Defense and Federal Acquisition regulations, policy and best practices.
  • Maintain the key database for all purchases, monitoring for past-due requirements and closed-out program requirements.
  • Participate in acquisition planning and provides recommendations for acquisition strategies as appropriate to best meet government needs.
  • Coordinate submission of completed purchase requests to the selected contracting office; and ensure all required documents and records supporting purchases and sub-tasks are routed and/or filed appropriately.
  • Research commodities for Government Purchase Card (GPC) purchase orders, and will maintain GPC files in accordance with the office Standing Operating Procedure.

Qualifications

Education

  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration or a closely related field from an accredited university is required
  • Certified Procurement Officer (CPO) certification preferred

Clearance:

  • Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Top Secret clearance is required.

Experience:

  • Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience
  • Experience with the military is preferred
  • Strong business acumen
  • Strong communication, organizational, creative, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and switch between tasks quickly
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to create and maintain formal and informal networks
